Parksville & Rotary Clubs of Parksville 2009 Committee & Task Force Events Participation Policy
The following policy will apply to all vendors and merchants engaged in operations of the Summer By The Sea Street Market, Business Initiatives, and Canada Day activities of the Parksville Rotary Club. For the purposes of this policy all individuals and business who register to participate in a Rotary event will be referred to as “participants” once they have been accepted by the appropriate Committee Chair and/or Coordinator. Each committee of the Rotary Club will possess their own criteria with respect to registration and participation in their respective events.
Definition of Vendor vs. Merchant
The Rotary Club of Parksville defines a Vendor as a company or individual:
that sells goods or services, which they themselves grow, craft or process whose primary purpose is to participate in trade shows, markets and events in order to sell their products or services, and as a result, may be located outside of the Parksville and district area
The Rotary Club defines a merchant as a company that: possesses a business in the physical sense (ie: retail dealer that is usually a shop-keeper) is a supplier: one who buys to sell, usually commercially made products and operates within a City with a prescribed business licence
Licenses and Permits
All food participants must possess and display the appropriate health inspections certificates at their booth. All participants whose purpose requires that they manipulate or physically touch people must possess appropriate insurance coverage. The Chamber is not liable for participants’ non-compliance with outside industry, governmental licensing or inspection regulations.
Non-Discrimination Policy
The Rotary Club believes in equal access to events for all participants. The Rotary Club will not engage in discrimination of participants based on location of business; the race, religion, gender, national origin, age, or disability of the participants and will comply with all federal, provincial, regional and local laws, orders, and regulations.
