The entertainment lineup for Parksville Canada Day celebrations is still being finalized but Canadian rock legends "Trooper" have already been confirmed and we will be adding additional acts as the dats approaches.
Johnny Vallis - Man Of Many Voices grew up dreaming of being Elvis, but Johnny Vallis made a name for himself in showbiz by impersonating another rock legend - Buddy Holly.

Vallis, spent many years paying homage to Holly, as part of the three-person (Holly, Elvis and Roy Orbison) Legends of Rock and Roll show."It was 'the show they never gave,'" He was "discovered" in January, 1989, and signed to play Buddy Holly with the Legends of Rock and Roll. Just 16 when he joined the show, Vallis spent the next nine years touring throughout North America and all over the world. He cites a 1996 tour of Australia, which involved 66 shows in just over two months, as well as an impromptu performance for the king and queen of Malaysia, as his favorite."If you want to stay in a career, you've got to be willing to try something new," Vallis said. His own Man of Many Voices musical comedy show, however, wasn't entirely new.The show involves impressions of Mick Jagger, Louis Armstrong, Dean Martin, Garth Brooks, John Lennon, the Bee Gees and Gordon Lightfoot, among others - voices that were perfected during sound checks for Legends shows.Vallis's performances also involve a healthy dose of G-rated comedy, but Vallis says his main focus remains on the music."It's musically based, because my life has been music," "I'm a singer first and a comedian second - unless you don't like my singing, then I'm a comedian first and a singer second."

Beth’s story is that of a small town girl with big dreams and an even bigger heart. She traveled from her home on Vancouver Island, BC to Nashville, Tennessee where she recorded her debut album “Open Road.” She did this thanks to the help and support of her community.
Her debut “Open Road” was recorded at the renowned studios of Dark Horse Recording (Faith Hill, Terri Clark, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift, etc…). She worked with writers Grady Walker and Marc-Alan Barnette, as well as talented musicians that among others have played on records including Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, Ricky Skaggs, and many more. After a very successful CD release show in April, Beth found her new band mates in a Nanaimo based Country band which includes Juno Award nominee Rick Salt on guitar, Todd Sacerty on bass, Joel Spillette on keys and Juno Award nominee Philip Whipper on drums. Beth has released her 2nd Radio single ‘Love Don’t Even Know My Name’, which already is gaining attention of music directors and fans across Canada.

THE RACKET CLUB - STEVE EAKINS - keyboards, JEFF SPONAGOULE - guitar, GERRY POOL - drums, and MIKE RAFONE-WILLIAMSON - bass.

The band originated in the late 1960’s and still features two of the original members. After a lengthy hiatus the Rail regrouped in 1996 and has been playing dances, exhibitions, fund-raisers, pubs/clubs ever since, recording two CD’s along the way, with another pending in the near future.
We love the comment from one 22year old at a recent function; “for a bunch of old guys, you know how to rock”…

Logan Burger
Logan is 9 years old and in grade 3. He first picked up the guitar at age 7 and has been taking lessons for the past year. He took to it right away and really enjoys playing as well as writing his own songs. Recently he played his very first gig at a coffee house in Errington. He was real nervous to be up in front of so many people but as he began to play those butterflies were gone in no time. Logan is a big fan of Pink Floyd and ACDC and draws a lot of inspiration from the big bands of yesterday's classic rock and roll. He's very excited to be sharing a stage on Canada day with so many talented artists.
